A graduate from Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen Jenny's work increasingly comes from her interest in collections of material objects with her home environment of a farm being a rich source of inspiration. Many an interesting object is found in old lofts or long forgotten storage spaces. Many of these objects stand alone as significant pieces or records of time but when considered as part of a collection, they then begin to take on new meanings and create fresh contexts for themselves.
For Jenny these objects describe moments of everyday life, revealing the obsessions and predjudices of a specific moment or period. They accompany us through life, constantly acting as signs, each obtaining its own meaning.... however, when an objects useful purpose has expired or been lost, we then see its real relationship with the world.
