Fiona Wilson

Fiona graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1991 and went on to complete a Post Graduate qualification in animation at the University of Teeside. She then taught for 12 years at Universities and Colleges in England and Scotland while continuing to develop her own art work. 2001 was a major turning point for her when she attended a course in stone lithography at the Glasgow Print Studio and this proved the catalyst in convincing her to pursue her career as a painter and printmaker.

Ranging from studies of buildings to studies of travellers, everyday people, flamenco dancers and performers, Fiona is continually collecting drawn reference which form the basis for later paintings and prints.

Recently her passion has moved more towards figurative work and she was a finalist in the televised portrait competition 'A Brush With Fame' with her portrait of Wayne Sleep being chosen by him as his favourite from the 25 finalists.
