Catriona Taylor

Catriona graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with a BA(Hons) Drawing and Painting in 2005 plus a Post Graduate certificate in Art, Space and Nature in 2006.

Her background in theatre naturally led her to combining her painting and drawing with large scale installation work, however, painting is her first love and her work focuses on place, loss and memory; drawing inspiration from landscape, text and cartography. She is fascinated by the surfaces of painting and attempts to recreate textured, tactile surfaces that you find in nature and old weathered objects.

Catriona has participated in both solo and group exhibitions throughout Scotland including Richard Demarco's Skateraw Gallery (Demarco retaining one of her works for his own collection).

Currently artist in residence at The National Library of Scotland.
