'My work centres around personal relationships with the world in general, focusing on many different aspects, and how we interact with a number of social issues. I'm influenced by the darker elements which are naturally shunned and not examined by 'fashionable' contemporary art. Similarly, I am inspired by artists such as Marlene Dumas and Luciano Castelli, both being very different in style but their work has an intimately personal quality and fragility along with bold mark-making and challenging imagery. My own personal traumas have lent a catharctic quality to a lot of my work which is representative in many ways of the chaotic society we live in, and the numbness which has overtaken us as we fail to interpret it'.
'Mark-making' is central to Lindsay's process, and the final imagery has to be vitally strong and unique.
Lindsay is a 2008 graduate in Painting from Glasgow School of Art.
