Sarah's work creates a defined and carefully considered space in which there is a sense of movement. Movement being a sensitivity to time and being placed within an area one might consider as 'optional'.
Her distant semiotic meaning from anything that may be considered an icon or sign and put trust in the integrity of her subjective practise and commitment. Personal yet univeral meaning can emerge within a varied contact of scale.
Incremental changes place one breath next to another and celebrate the in-betweens and simple parts that collect to form her paintings.
She relies on beauty found in the transition. The passing note. The perpetual relay of each moment seemlessly and freshly giving to the next. The little things. The 'why nots' The art truly given to each and every inflection.
Sarah has a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting from Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen.
