Lorne is a Glasgow based Painter and Sculptor. A Graduate of Glasgow School of Art, he is originally from Kilmore in rural Argyll. His artwork is influenced by the landscape of Scotland and the poems and short stories of writers such as Jorge Luis Borges.
In his paintings, traditional painting techniques are employed to illustrate imagined spaces evoking the remonatic and the surreal. Spaces in which notions of scale and our perspective as the viewer are challenged.
Sculpture has always played a part in Lorne's work as a painting aid and he has recently completed large scale public artworks for Glasgow City Council. His work is held in many private collections and he has exhibited throughout the UK and in Europe.
